Cotton Belt Depot & Chamber of Commerce

The Historic Cotton Belt Depot houses the office of The Gatesville Chamber of Commerce. The Gatesville Chamber of Commerce serves not only as a visitors center, but as a general business meeting place for our board of directors, members, and others in the community. Our mission is to promote business growth and development of our beautiful city as well as act as a resource for many businesses within Gatesville and the surrounding areas.

The Cotton Belt was a railroad route that ran from St. Louis, Missouri to various points in Texas and Arkansas between 1891 and 1992. It was nicknamed the Cotton Belt because the majority of its tracks ran through regions where cotton was the main crop.
